Windows 7 32-bit running 8gb RAM

In an earlier post I talked about how to enable more than 3gb on 32bit Windows 7.

Why on earth would you want to do this? Why not upgrade to 64bit Windows? Well quite simply you can’t upgrade. You can reinstall from scratch but there’s no in place upgrade from 32bit to 64bit.

This means new install and all the pain and suffering that comes with that!

For those that have more memory installed and can’t access it, this hack is simple, pain free and just works.

As you can see from the screenshot, I’m running 8gb of fully addressable RAM under 32bit and I have no issues with it. My system is fast, responsive and has had a new breath of life.

Oh and all my software and settings remain unchanged.
